Miss Caryn: Montessori Children's Garden
Miss Caryn
I was born and raised in Houston, TX so I’m a southerner at
heart, and came to the Midwest to attend college and never left. I live in
Naperville with my husband Dave. We have two daughters, Megan, who recently
graduated from the University of Rochester and is on an adventure in Pittsburgh
for the next year. Emily is a sophomore at Butler University in Indianapolis
and plays the flute in the wind ensemble there.
I believe that there is no greater investment than what we
give to our children with our time, attention, and energy. It is important that
every child feels accepted for who they are and believes in themselves and what
they can accomplish. I enjoy being a part of children’s journeys to discovering
who they are and that there are no limits to who they can be.
I graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in
economics and have been working part time in church administration while our
daughters were growing up. I am excited to begin my time with Montessori Children’s
Garden and the opportunities that it opens for me. I have a creative spirit that
draws me to teaching and have spent many years teaching Sunday school and leading
Vacation Bible School. I enjoy putting lessons together and creating spaces
that encourage engagement. My favorite thing about being in the classroom is
building a community together to further the strengths and interests of our
children.
Music is a large part of my life and I even marched in the
Rose Bowl Parade with the Northwestern band. I also love the Muppets, and I’m
an avid sports fan.
