Toddler Program

The focus on autonomy and toilet learning give way to self-confidence and independence as the child successfully masters care of self activities. On a daily basis, the toddlers work on putting on their coat, changing their shoes, cleaning up dishes after mealtime and organizing their classroom. They are taught to be a valuable part of their toddler community and they love engaging in authentic tasks that take place daily.

Language at this age is blossoming and the door to communicating needs and desires is wide open. There are many sensory-motor activities and materials that develop cognitive powers. Their activities are concrete experiences: seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, touching and movement.

Separating from mom and dad and becoming comfortable with their new school can be a challenge for some children. Humbly speaking, our teachers are superb at helping you and your child work through the first few days and weeks. We will work with you, provide advice, and most importantly, hold hands (and sometimes share hugs) to be there with your child as they're adjusting. Our teachers understand it's not easy for you until you know your child is thriving.

Potty training is a big part of what is going on in the Toddler Classroom. Regardless if your child is still in diapers or wearing "big kid pants", we will help them through this hurdle in a safe and nurturing environment. We work closely with parents so once everyone is in agreement, we'll meet this challenge along with others that come your way during the toddler year. They are ready and capable, are you?
